Tammy Hopkins | Civil Service Council | SIU

Tammy began her career at SIU as an OSAII part-time, receptionist for Continuing Education in 1996. From there, she has served as database manager for Career Services, Office Manager in Psychology, Office Administrator in Mechanical Engineering and is now employed by the School of Law Admissions Office as an Administrative Aide, in this role Tammy processes applications and assists students with financial aid issues and questions.

Tammy obtained both her Bachelor of Science degree and Master of Science degree from SIUC.

Tammy is married to Nate whom she married in 2012. They enjoy traveling, rescuing dogs with cute faces and sad stories as well as spending time together with family and enjoying various hobbies.

Tammy also has an adult daughter, Caitlin. Caitlin is Tammy’s proudest accomplishment in life, a wonderful, thoughtful, patient mother who has blessed Tammy with the three greatest loves of her life, her grandchildren; Ryland, Reign and Keily.

Tammy is a lifelong resident of southern Illinois and loves working at the University because it allows her to help a diverse population of students, staff and faculty while sharing her love of southern Illinois and SIU.
