As a lifelong Southern Illinois resident, I began my career at SIU in 2011 in the Department of Animal Science, Food & Nutrition as an Office Support Associate. I moved up to the role of Office Support Specialist for the Department in 2013, and then to Office Manager in 2015. In 2019, I accepted my current position as Office Administrator in the College of Engineering, Computing, Technology, & Mathematics.

With my roles at the University all being within academic units, improving the SIU experience for students has been a priority; after all, without our students, none of us would be here. During my time in ASFN I assisted with academic advisement, met with prospective students, worked with Registered Student Organizations on coordinating their events and purchasing needed items and equipment, and spent many hours as a listening board for students who were struggling academically and personally. Since moving to my current role, I still do all of those things to varying degrees, and I have expanded our College's slate of student-focused events.

In addition to supporting students, I have spent much of my career advocating for SIU staff, who are too often an overlooked, but critical, piece of the University's mission and are an integral piece of all of the successes we have achieved. I was the President of the Association of Civil Service Employees from September 2022 to February 2026, working with other staff to negotiate two contracts for the union to help improve things for our members where at all possible. I am also on my second (non-consecutive) term on Civil Service Council, and I remain committed to serving all SIU staff to the best of my ability.

You can also find her getting beat up on the pickleball court, cheering on the Fighting Illini, gardening, canning, or sharing her God-given talents with others through volunteer work.
