I am a lifelong resident of Carbondale and a graduate of Carbondale Community High School.  My brother and I were raised in Carbondale by parents who moved here to attend SIU.  I am a first-generation graduate and double alumna from SIU (BA 2013, MBA 2022), as well as being a 19-year civil service employee.  During that time, I have held a variety of positions at SIU Foundation as well as OIT.  I have worked in gift processing, data integrity, database conversions, report writing, and project management in my several roles.  I have been tremendously fortunate to forge wonderful relationships with many colleagues across SIU, but especially at SIU Foundation, SIU Alumni Association, OIT, and SIU School of Medicine.  My time at SIU has no doubt improved the trajectory of my life in many ways, from the excellent education I received, to the employee tuition waiver which allowed me to complete my education nearly debt-free, to the career mentorship I have received from multiple supervisors.

I have served on Civil Service Council since 2022, including service on several committees even before that.  This year, I was honored to be elected Treasurer.  I ran for Civil Service Council to feel more informed and connected to what’s going on at our campus, and to have an opportunity to advocate for our civil service employees.  I think SIU is critical to the health and vibrancy of this region, and our Civil Service employees are critical to SIU.  It’s important to me that they be well represented and have a seat at the table.  I want them to feel heard and like the valuable part of the SIU community that they undeniably are.

I have also served on the boards of the Friends of the Shawnee National Forest, SIU Women’s Club, and Humane Society of Southern Illinois.  My interests include traveling, reading, cooking, hiking, and shooting pool on an amateur pool league.
