I served 4 years in the US Navy as an Information Systems Technician from Chicago, IL. My wife and I have 4 children, sons ages 25, 22, 15, and our 17 year old daughter.

I came to SIU as a student in 2001 and was hired as a Building Service worker in 2004. I’m also the current business agent and former president of Service Employees International Union Local#316 here on campus. Our union represents a total of 215 custodians, secretaries, cooks, and bus drivers here on campus and throughout several school districts in southern Illinois. Since 2012, I’ve helped negotiate 16 labor contracts for departments as small as 7 members to as large as 130 members. No matter the situation or circumstances, the people will always be any organizations most valuable asset. My contribution to this council is to find a way to help our fellow Salukis in any way possible. I truly believe when a Saluki finds their purpose, when they find out their real contribution, we all benefit at the end of the day
