Dana Roland began her career at Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2005 as extra help in PSO – Travel Service Department. While finishing up her Bachelor’s Degree in the College of Business, she was hired as a full-time Civil Service Staff employee working in a variety of jobs such as Statistical Clerk, Account Tech II, Account Tech III, Accountant I, and Accountant II. As well filling in as a half-time Administrative Assistant for a short time. After a few years working in PSO she moved to Information Technology, then Recreational Sports & Services, and now currently working in Office of Sponsored Projects with Grant Accounts. Each job as taught her many different aspects of Southern Illinois University. And she has met may wonderful SIUC employees along the way.

When Dana is not working she loves spending time with her family. She has three kids and six grandkids. Dana’s parents actually met at SIUC in Morris Library many years ago while both were college students. Therefore, SIUC holds a special place in her heart always. She also loves spending time with her animals, also friends and family’s animals. She loves to cook, spend time in her yard, devoted Elks member where charity is very important, tries to use her creative crafty side as much as possible and a huge SIUC Saluki Football Fan.

Dana is also native of Carterville and a SIUC Alumni.  Started on the Civil Service Council in Summer of 2021. She looks forward to learning and helping her fellow Civil Service employees as much as possible.
