Dawn is a 20-plus year transplant to Southern Illinois, beginning her career at SIU in 1996. Since then, she has worked in areas both academic (Rehabilitation Institute, Workforce Education
Dawn and her husband, John, live with their two dogs and her five (yes, five!) birds, where quiet time doesn’t exist. In her so-called leisure time, Dawn participates in activities and fundraising efforts as an officer of the board of directors of the Humane Society of Southern Illinois. She enjoys collecting antiques for which she has no room, baking pastries she shouldn’t eat, planning travel itineraries she may or may not ever use, and harbors fantastical dreams of retiring to Scotland.
