I began my career at the University in October 1989 as a Secretary III in the University Programming Office.  During my six years at UPO, I was promoted to OSS I and then OSS II.  In 1996, I left Illinois for fun in the sun in south Florida, working for attorneys and a police department.  I moved back to Carbondale in 2004, working for more attorneys and a police department.  I returned to the University in February 2009, as an Office Support Specialist in the College of Science Dean’s Office.  In 2011, I moved to the College of Engineering Dean’s Office as Office Administrator, and in May 2012, I moved to the Office of General Counsel as an Administrative Aide.  I began my current position as Telecommunicator for the Dept. of Public Safety in July 2018.

I have connected with individuals across campus during my 15+ years in both academic and administrative offices.  Also, since January 2013, I have been the Facilitator for the last surviving UWPA Civil Service Connections group on campus.  I received my Associate's degree from SIUC in the 90s and am currently working toward my Bachelor’s majoring in Paralegal Studies and a minor in Criminology and Criminal Justice.  In my spare time, I enjoy motorcycling, boating and listening to local live bands.

As a newly elected member of the Council, I look forward to representing my fellow civil service employees in enhancing and improving their careers at SIUC.
